I 1914 ble den norske krone tatt av gullstandarden, noe som tillot staten fri tilgang til å printe uendelig mye penger. Dette har ført til en redusert verdi på 99,3%. Én krone i 1914 fikk kjøpt like mye som hundre kroner i dag. Hvis du lurer på hvorfor alt er så mye dyrere i dag, er dette nettop hvorfor.
